07.11. - 13.11.2026Experience Fasting with Kirsten Jahns
Fasting is not about giving something up โ it is an encounter with yourself. This fasting week combines relief, exercise and joie de vivre into a healing break.
From preparation to breaking the fast: how a guided fasting week at the Zollhaus is typically structured โ with a week stepper, daily routine and packing list.
Many wonder before their first fasting week what a typical day looks like. Thereโs no rigid schedule โ every fasting leader shapes the week with their own experience and rituals.
The following is a guide โ details vary by leader, group size, season and extras. Basics: What is Buchinger fasting?
Various experienced leaders work here, each with their own style: long hikes, yoga, meditation or mindfulness.
A few days before, cut down on coffee, alcohol, sweets and heavy meals. Light food eases the start โ see preparation.
Welcome, getting to know each other, introduction and first questions. For many, rest starts on arrival.
Broth, juices, tea and water โ plus movement, rest and exchange. See drinking.
At the end of the week the fast is broken consciously โ often together.
Your body gradually returns to solid food: breaking the fast.
Water or herbal tea, then light movement, breathing or a short meditation.
A walk or hike โ mindful, not athletic: fasting hikes.
A warm broth, e.g. carrot-ginger.
Yoga, reading, nature โ or the sauna area. Plus a fresh juice like carrot-apple.
Share experiences and ask questions. Afterwards perhaps a liver compress.
Some settle quickly, others need longer. Mild hunger or tiredness may occur at first โ many say it changes after a few days.
Tips: common complaints.
