A wellness holiday for your soul

Zur Zeit hat der untere See die Wassertiefe nicht und der obere See ist stark zugewachsen.

Mittlerweile sind es 2 Naturseen. Sommer wie Winter haben schwimmbegeisterte Gäste nun die Möglichkeit, den Waldsee zu nutzen… während ihres Hotelaufenthalts zum Bahnen schwimmen, im Rahmen des Saunabesuches oder als Gruppe, um ein Schwimmtrainingslager durchzuführen.

Sie haben aber mehrere Möglichkeiten um zu baden, nur 2,5 Km von hier in Hermsdorf ist ein schönes Naturschwimmbad, gleich in der Nähe vom Rathaus. Oder nach Holzhau in den schönen Naturbadesee.

Ideal training pool

Specially prepared for ice swimming, the lake, which is 35 metres long and 20 metres wide and has three 25-metre lanes, can not only be used for future ice swimming competitions, but is now also available to our hotel guests free of charge.

First ice swimming event

The Zollhaus Open - our first ever ice swimming event - ended with a great response from participants, guests and the press and has enriched the hotel with its own swimming lake.

Summer and winter - 25 m pool, 3 lanes

Both in summer and winter, swimming enthusiasts now have the opportunity to use the Waldsee... during their hotel stay to swim laps, as part of a sauna visit or as a group to organise a swimming training camp.

Water depth from 1 m to 2.20 m

The lake now has a ladder where you can easily get in and out and with a water depth of 1 m to 2.20 m in the deep areas, there is nothing to stop you from enjoying your swim. The only thing you will have to do without is the starting jumps due to the different depths. So be careful - please don't jump in!

Only 180 metres from the customs house

The very idyllic natural lake... just 180 metres from the Zollhaus on our hotel grounds - is surrounded by forest and is fed by rainwater from the large meadow.

Bathing is always possible

Guests who would like to swim in the lake during the winter season should register at reception, as we will have to clear the lake of ice for you if necessary.

Ideal for a training camp

The swimming lake is not only suitable for ice swimmers, but also for swimmers who simply want to train and swim their laps. The forest is also ideal for jogging... for kilometres and at 800 m altitude. And because of the neighbouring forest and the quiet location of the hotel, triathletes will also find ideal conditions for a training camp. Swimming in the forest lake on the 25 metre lane - with or without wetsuit... or in the swimming pool in Altenberg 10 minutes away, running training in the surrounding forest area and road cycling or alternatively mountain biking can also start right on the doorstep.

Bath tubs can also be hired in summer

AND... we also have the ice swimming competition to thank for our other guest highlight... the hot tub with water heated to around 40 degrees. It is located halfway from the sauna to the lake and can provide an unforgettable nature experience... under a starry sky and moonlight at night...
The tub can accommodate up to 6 people - and if you are looking for peace and quiet in a very special environment, then this is just the thing for you.
