Right next to the Landhotel Altes Zollhaus near Altenberg you will find two natural lakes – in the middle of the forest, on our own hotel grounds. In summer and winter alike you can swim your lengths here.

Natural lake in the forest – 25 m pool, 3 lanes
Specially prepared for ice swimming, our natural lake is 35 m long, 20 m wide and has three 25 m lanes. It is not only meant for competitions – as a hotel guest you can use it free of charge. For swimming lengths during your stay, cooling off after the sauna or a swimming training camp with your group – ideal for your Summer holiday in the Ore Mountains. Easy in via the ladder – please don’t jump!
A ladder lets you get in and out comfortably. With a water depth of 1 m to 2.20 m at the deepest points, nothing stands in the way of your swimming fun. Only diving starts are not possible because of the varying depth – so please don’t jump in!
Our idyllic natural lake is just 180 m from the Zollhaus on the hotel grounds, surrounded by forest and fed with rainwater from the large meadow. How to get here is explained under Arrival.
Baden ist immer möglich
In summer the natural lake is your cool retreat in the middle of the forest – for swimming lengths, cooling off after a hike or simply drifting. Ideal for your Summer holiday in the Ore Mountains.

40 degrees, moonlight and room for six
We owe another highlight to the ice swimming competition: the hot tub with water at around 40 degrees. It stands halfway between the sauna and the natural lake and makes for an unforgettable nature experience – also at night under the stars and moonlight. In summer you can also rent it.

Swimming, running, cycling
Our natural lake is not just for ice swimmers, but for anyone who simply wants to train and swim their lengths. The forest is ideal for running – for kilometres and with up to 800 metres of elevation. Thanks to the quiet location right by the forest, triathletes also find perfect conditions for their training camp. We are happy to make clubs and groups an offer – just write to us.

Sauna, steam bath, hot tub and then a dip in the cool natural lake – it hardly gets more relaxing. Treat yourself to a massage afterwards and head to our Restaurant to round off the evening.
