Rudolf and Dasher at the Zollhaus
It was a quiet winter evening at the Zollhaus. The bar glowed warmly and the crackling fire made it cosy. In this idyll two unusual guests sat at the bar: Rudolf and Dasher, two reindeer better known from Christmas Eve.
Rudolf sipped his warm apple punch: โDasher, this holiday in the Ore Mountains was our best idea ever! No sleigh, no presents โ just hooves up.โ Dasher munched a carrot: โBut how do we always get lost in the forest? Weโve flown through fog for decades โ but here in the Ore Mountains: zap, lost!โ
Rudolf laughed, his red nose glowing. โThis forest is tricky. But at least we landed at the Zollhaus โ look at the food!โ Ore Mountains sauerbraten and fresh potato salad steamed on their plates. โAnd the deer here are so kind,โ said Dasher, โthey showed us the way to the viewpoint yesterday.โ
โTomorrow weโll head back to the forest,โ said Rudolf, hooves up on the bar rail, โbut tonight we just enjoy the calm.โ Dasher raised his glass: โTo holidays, to good food โ and to no jingle bells until December!โ โ โIโll drink to that!โ
