Hiking around the Zollhaus
Many signposted trails through forests, fields and by streams – and cross-country with phone GPS. The Kammweg passes right behind the Zollhaus along the border. Moldava is about half an hour on foot – or hike to the lake in Czechia.
Winter hiking in snow
In winter and often in between, there’s usually snow – even when the rest of Germany has none. Ice crystals and frozen patterns look painted. Romantic evenings: torch hike.
Cross-country skiing
Tracks run along the border – on skis you cover long distances quickly.
Cycling for the fit
Between Hermsdorf, Altenberg and Seyde await steep climbs and long descents. E-bikes make it easier. The Zollhaus rents mountain bikes (non-electric) to guests.
Experience cold

Out with forester Felix
Felix Förster (literally “forester”) studied forestry and worked as a forester. He leads hikes around the Zollhaus, e.g. on the yoga holiday with hikes; other guests can join too.
