Our hot tub is heated with wood and has a cosy temperature of about 38 °C. You sit in the fresh air, look out into the forest and feel everyday life slowly falling away.
Treat yourself to calm, relaxation and new energy – ideal after a day of hiking or as the highlight of your wellness day at Zollhaus.
The hot and cold ritual
For those who like it intense – for everyone else, steps 2 and 3 are already perfect.
Cool down in the lake
The natural lake is only about 100 metres away. In briefly, breathe deeply – and out.
Warm up in the tub
At around 38 °C in the wood-fired water you warm up beautifully.
Rest with a forest view
Lean back, look into the forest and enjoy the silence.

Hot tub – on request only
The tub can be booked every day. Because it is heated with wood, we need a little lead time: please let us know 2 days in advance by 12 noon.

Who invented it?
The Finns like to claim they invented the sauna – which isn’t quite true. Archaeologists found traces of stone sweat baths in East Asia: earth caves where heated stones were doused with water. What is true: the modern form of the sauna really does come from the north.

How warm is the hot tub?
The water is a cosy 38 °C or so. The tub is heated with wood.
How do I book the hot tub?
The hot tub can be booked daily, on request only. Please let us know 2 days in advance by 12 noon – by phone on +49 35057 540 or via the contact form.
Can I cool down first?
Yes – if you’re brave, take a dip in the natural lake about 100 metres away first and then warm up again in the tub.
Where is the hot tub?
The tub stands outdoors at Landhotel Altes Zollhaus – with a wonderful view of the forest.
