Not just play areas designed by adults – there are of course those too, right opposite the hotel – but also simply meadows, forest, space… lots of space… namely 60,000 m² of pure nature to romp, play and explore – right behind the house and in the adjoining woodland with the hotel’s own natural lake – only 200 m from the hotel.

But with so much action, catering is of course a must. Our family-friendly restaurants offer Saxon, Italian and Ayurvedic cuisine - including children's menus for younger guests, of course.

A two-day ride through the Saxon and Bohemian mountains with an overnight stay in a rustic log cabin. You can round off the evening by the campfire. You ride through the Flöha and Mulde valleys and over wooded hills. The price includes a barbecue evening and breakfast, luggage transfer and hut hire

Forest park of generations
The latest addition for your holiday with children was opened by the Hermsdorf municipal administration right next to the customs house in 2019. It is the generation park with play, fitness and seating facilities for young and old.
In addition to Play and Climbing possibilities the Slackline...a wonderful balancing exercise and a good opportunity to find out who in your family can walk all the way along the rubber rope without falling off. But don't worry, if you fall, you won't fall far, because the rope is only 50 cm above the ground... so you can take the plunge and relax.
For fitness, there is also a signposted Fitness trailwhich also offers an ideal training programme for sporty parents before breakfast. Ideal for a holiday with children.

In the evening, round off your eventful day with our extensive culinary offerings. For example, you have the choice between culinary Specialities from the region... and... the original Italian pizza prepared in the original Italian stone oven by the original Italian pizza chef... who of course lets the children look over his shoulder as he prepares the pizzas.
After a short digestive walk around the customs house - where you may be lucky enough to spot deer, stags and hares - the children will fall into bed tired and content and you - after a glass of Sicilian wine in our Wine bar - are sure to enjoy the end of the evening just as happily.

Frequently asked questions about family holidays in the Ore Mountains
Are there family rooms?
Yes. Our family rooms are around 90 m² and have two separate bedrooms – ideal for families of up to four. You can find all the details on our rooms page.
Can we get a cot or an extra bed?
Of course. Please let us know when booking or at reception in good time before arrival, and we will prepare everything.
What can children do when it rains?
The hotel has a free children’s playroom. For excursions, there is for example the Toy Museum in Seiffen, Lauenstein Castle or the Karl May Museum in Radebeul.
Is there a swimming pool?
Yes. In summer, our small outdoor swimming pool is open. In addition, our hotel’s own natural lake is just 200 m from the hotel – ideal for splashing and swimming.
Are children allowed in the sauna?
Our sauna area is for guests aged 16 and over. For the little ones there is the natural lake, plenty of nature and the Generations Forest Park directly opposite.
Can we bring our dog?
Dogs are welcome in many rooms, but unfortunately not in the family room. Just talk to us and we will find a suitable solution.
When are check-in and check-out?
Rooms are available from 2:00 pm and should be vacated by 11:00 am on the day of departure.
