1. history of Ruldolf

It was a quiet winter evening in the customs house. The bar was warmly lit and the crackling of the fireplace lent the atmosphere a cosy touch. In the middle of this idyllic scene, two somewhat unusual guests were sitting at the bar: Rudolf and Dasher, two reindeer that are more familiar from Christmas Eve. But today everything was different.

Rudolf took a deep sip of his warm apple punch and sighed contentedly. "Dasher, I'm telling you, this holiday in the Ore Mountains was the best idea we've ever had! No sledging, no presents - just put our hooves up and relax."

Dasher nodded and popped a carrot from the snack bowl into his mouth. "Yeah, that's really good. But honestly, how do we manage to get lost in the forest every time? We've been flying over rooftops and through fog all over the world for decades. But here in the Ore Mountains? Zack, lost!"

Rudolf laughed, his famous red nose lighting up a little. "I'm telling you, this forest here is a tough one. But at least we ended up in the customs house - and look at the food here!" He pointed to the sumptuous plates in front of them, on which home-made specialities such as Erzgebirge sauerbraten and fresh potato salad were steaming.

"The food really is fantastic," Dasher agreed. "And the deer here are so nice! Did you notice how kindly they showed us the way to the viewpoint yesterday?"

Rudolf nodded enthusiastically. "Yes, and one of them even gave us tips on where to find the best berries! Tomorrow we should definitely go back to the forest and have a chat with them. But today..." He leaned back, his hooves relaxed on the bar's kick. "...Today we'll just enjoy the peace and quiet."

Dasher raised his glass and grinned. "To a holiday! To good food! And to not having to hear any more bells until December."

"I'll drink to that!" Rudolf clinked glasses with him, and for a moment everything was perfect - two reindeer on a well-deserved winter break, in the middle of the Ore Mountains, in the warm cosiness of the customs house.
