The Zollhaus radio station has a lot to offer. We are proud that DJ Chris from Disco Flaslights has done the groundwork here to set up our radio station. Our radio station plays playlists of the most popular tracks and albums. But we also often have live programmes. On these programmes we talk about various topics, such as music, seminars, culture and news about the Zollhaus.
We will also be conducting interesting interviews with artists and DJs to get even more insight into the music scene. We're also proud to say that we'll be covering a wide range of music styles. The first radio station in Germany
The first radio station to go on air in Germany was the Berlin-based station Radio Berliner Rundfunk (RBR) on 30 October 1923. It was a private radio station and was primarily intended to provide music and entertainment. It was one of the first private radio stations in Europe. For the first year and a half, the station broadcast daily between 9 o'clock in the evening and 1 o'clock at night. On 1 January 1925, the station also began regular broadcasting from Monday to Saturday between 6 pm and 1 am. The transmitter had a transmission power of 1.5 kilowatts, a range of around 150 kilometres and listeners could receive the programmes via shortwave. The station had many listeners, especially in and around Berlin. Among the station's most popular programmes were the radio shows by Hans Flesch and jazz pianist Thilo Wolf, but the news and current affairs worldwide were also very popular. The station had a very extensive programme that focused on sophisticated entertainment and information. In addition to music, news and entertainment, lectures on various topics, political debates and interviews were also broadcast.
