Tradition

The restaurant's wonderful appearance is due to the unusual mixture of the unique brick cross vault with the sandstone pillars. In fact, the restaurant used to be a cowshed, as some of the photos in the restaurant show. It was then remodelled into a restaurant in 1840. The nice thing about the Zollhaus is that you are free to choose whether you eat a pizza or à la carte.

What makes our stone oven pizzeria in Saxony so special? Quite simply, we bake with an original stone oven from Italy. The company has been building pizza ovens for over 100 years and the wood comes directly from our neighbourhood. Our pizza chef also comes from Italy, more precisely from beautiful Sicily. We attach great importance to tradition, just as the Zollhaus is a traditional house, our pizza is also baked in this beautiful stone oven.

A highlight of our catering facilities is certainly our pizzeria with its original Italian stone oven!
Can you taste what has been prepared for you in the dishes? Are you looking for your partner's glass to clink glasses? Experience a very special evening with your partner, friends or work colleagues. Accept the challenge! All dishes are prepared in complete darkness. Nothing is elaborately carved and the fish is of course boneless. You will be provided with normal cutlery - and will be amazed at how quickly you can handle it after a short familiarisation period.

Dark restaurant

What you perceive with your senses in the dark is more than you can ever experience in the light. Our dark restaurant in the Ore Mountains is unique. Please book in advance.
We have two halls for you to choose from: Room 1 and Room 2, which can be separated by a partition wall, offer space for up to 120 people in total and can also be used separately. There is also another separate room available for a buffet.

Breakfast

Our alkaline fasting guests also like to sit here. Or have a nice glass of wine in the evening. Also with dinner. Just ask our team.
The first rays of sunshine tickle the tips of our noses, the birds are chirping and the trees are stretching. Nature is in turmoil and we humans are feeling great. The days are getting longer and the nights shorter. We are looking forward to the most beautiful time of the year: summer! When the temperatures rise and the sun takes its place in the sky, we open our hearts and our doors and invite you all to visit our beautiful beer garden.

Wild mushroom soup with bacon

A savoury soup made from fresh wild mushrooms, refined with crispy fried bacon. Perfect for bringing the flavour of the forest to your plate - spicy, aromatic and comforting.

Tomato soup with basil 

Fruity tomato soup, flavoured with fresh basil. On request, we serve it with a pinch of flavoursome Grana Padano - a delight for all the senses.

Carrot and ginger soup 

A creamy soup made from flavoured carrots, refined with a hint of ginger for a slight spiciness. Warming, fresh and full of flavour!

Colourful leaf salad

Fresh, crunchy leaf lettuce, refined with roasted almonds and a finely balanced balsamic dressing. Light, aromatic and simply delicious!

Customs house salad

Crunchy leaf salads with fresh cucumber, tomatoes and peppers, served with a choice of tender chicken breast in crispy cornflake breading or creamy buffalo mozzarella. A treat to suit your taste!

Dressings: garlic yoghurt, balsamic thyme, mustard vinaigrette

Customs House Bowl

A colourful and varied mix of rice salad, Waldorf lettuce, celery, crunchy apples, carrots, walnuts, beetroot and fresh apple salad. A harmonious delight of freshness, sweetness and crunchy textures - perfect for every taste!

Optional: Chicken strips in chilli sauce or king prawns

Bruschetta (3 pieces)

Crispy bread topped with fresh tomatoes, aromatic garlic, fragrant basil and a pinch of parmesan. Served with a skilfully arranged salad rose as a highlight - pure Mediterranean indulgence!
